Lavrinc Blueberries

Growing based on knowledge, experience and constant care

Successful blueberry growing requires more than just a good location. It is based on understanding the plant, its special growing conditions and careful work throughout the whole season — from soil preparation to harvesting a quality crop.

Specifics of blueberry growing

Blueberries are among the more demanding fruit crops because they require very specific conditions for successful growth. They grow best in acidic, airy, humus-rich and evenly moist soils. That is why the correct plantation design is one of the key conditions for quality and long-term growing.

On our farm, we have been developing blueberry growing since 1984. Today, the plantation covers approximately 4 hectares and contains around 10,000 bushes. Over the decades, we have built an approach based on experience, careful observation of plants and thoughtful work throughout the year.

With blueberries, no single phase is enough on its own — the whole process matters. Every step, from soil preparation and planting to plantation care and harvest, affects the final quality of the crop.

Soil

Blueberries require acidic and humus-rich soil that supports healthy root development and stable plant growth.

Plantation care

Regular monitoring, proper plant care, pruning, irrigation and long-term care for bush vitality are essential.

Harvest

A quality crop is created when the fruit is picked at the right ripeness, with good taste, firmness and freshness.

From soil preparation to full yield

In establishing a plantation, proper soil preparation is the first key step, because without suitable acidity and soil structure blueberries cannot develop their full potential. It is also important that plants have suitable conditions throughout the season in terms of moisture, soil aeration and care.

Blueberries are a crop where results are closely linked to long-term work. The plant needs time to reach full production, which is why patience and consistent care are essential parts of successful growing.

Our plantation includes several different varieties, which allows gradual ripening, a longer harvest period and better adaptation to different seasonal conditions.

Why is growing demanding?

Blueberries are not a crop that thrives everywhere. They require a lot of knowledge, a suitable environment and precise work all year round.

• special soil acidity

• plant sensitivity to growing conditions

• need for precise and regular care

• long-term development to full yield

Our way of working through the season

Crop quality is created throughout the entire year. Each season brings its own specifics, which is why constant monitoring of the plantation and timely action in all key phases of growth are essential.

Plant monitoring

We regularly monitor plants through all developmental stages, because this is the only way to notice plantation needs in time and maintain good bush condition.

Careful maintenance

We place strong emphasis on plant care, plantation order, soil care, irrigation and other measures that influence stable growth and crop quality.

Harvest at the right ripeness

We pick blueberries when they reach their best characteristics for a fresh crop: good flavour, proper firmness, aroma and the characteristic quality of the fruit.

We believe that good growing is based on respect for the plant, the soil and the natural rhythm of the season. That is why our work combines tradition, experience and a responsible approach to modern blueberry growing.

Growing as a long-term commitment

Blueberry growing requires precision, patience and continuous presence throughout the year. It is not focused only on quantity, but above all on healthy plant development, plantation stability and crop quality.

Our direction remains clear: careful growing, a responsible relationship with the land and a crop based on long-standing knowledge and trust built from season to season.
